Narrative-driven walking simulator
Do Not Press The Button (Or You'll Delete The Multiverse) is a premium adventure game for PC developed by Theseus Games. It's a first-person walking and exploration simulator set inside a strange facility, with interactive buttons players can press for unknown and unpredictable results. Newcomers can check out the prologue version to get a preview of what the gameplay will be like.
Buttons and lots of them
In Do Not Press The Button (Or You'll Delete The Multiverse), you can freely explore multiple themed rooms. Each one houses various interactable objects and buttons, the latter of which can be pressed for unknown outcomes. In fact, the game's developer himself will actively taunt you into doing so, and it's up to you to give in or annoy him by doing things your way.
As you go through each area, a narrator will provide a glimpse into the game's story, as well as go on a weird tangent about existence and the meaning of life. There are also secret areas and multiverses for you to discover as you go on your playthrough. All that said, the gameplay experience is a bit shallow, and there is very little to actually do. Also, walking takes way too long, with extended corridors and hallways to go through.
Falls short
Overall, Do Not Press The Button (Or You'll Delete The Multiverse) is an okay game if you played The Stanley Parable and are looking for a similar experience. While it captures the concept, the execution does fall short of being great, with the issues mentioned above. If you're alright with that, give this one a try.
